Privacy Policy
Last updated 2026-09-16
This policy explains what personal data the Container Loading Calculator ("the Service") collects, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the Service.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller — the party that decides why and how your data is used — is Sky Team Labs. Ask us anything about this policy, about your own data, or for the operator's full registered details at info@skyteamlabs.com, and we will answer.
2. What we collect
We only collect what the Service needs to work:
- Account data — if you create an optional account, your email address and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store the password itself).
- Your plans and cargo data — the packing manifests, load-plan snapshots and shareable links you choose to create and save. You can use the calculator without an account and without saving anything.
- Technical logs — standard server logs, including your IP address and basic request metadata, kept mainly to keep the Service secure and to enforce rate limits that stop abuse.
We do not ask for and do not need special-category data. Please do not put sensitive personal information into cargo names or notes.
3. Why we use it, and our legal bases
Under Article 6 GDPR we rely on the following legal bases:
- To provide the Service — computing load plans, saving snapshots you request, and serving shareable links. Legal basis: performance of a contract (our terms of service), or your consent where you have no account.
- To keep the Service secure and reliable — logging, rate limiting and preventing abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in protecting the Service and its users.
- To communicate with you about your account when necessary. Legal basis: performance of a contract or our legitimate interests.
4. We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. Your cargo data and plans are used only to operate the Service for you.
5. Who processes it (hosting and sub-processors)
The Service runs on a virtual private server hosted within the European Union. We use a small number of infrastructure providers (for example, our hosting provider) that process data strictly on our instructions as processors under Article 28 GDPR. The team that runs the Service works partly outside the European Economic Area, so your data may be accessed from there; where that happens we rely on the safeguards allowed by Chapter V GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
One exception you choose yourself: if you accept analytics cookies (section 8), Google Ireland Limited processes that visit data as our processor, and Google may transfer it to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its standard contractual clauses. Decline, and nothing is sent to Google at all.
6. How long we keep it
- Packing jobs — computed job records are automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Saved snapshots and shareable links — kept until you delete them (or delete your account). Anyone with a shareable link can view that plan until it is removed.
- Account data — kept while your account is active; removed when you ask us to delete your account.
- Server logs — kept only for a short operational period for security and abuse prevention, then rotated out.
7. Your rights under GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected;
- Erasure — ask us to delete your account and associated data;
- Portability — receive your data in a common machine-readable format;
- Objection and restriction — object to, or ask us to restrict, processing based on our legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@skyteamlabs.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
8. Cookies and local storage
We use functional cookies and local storage, plus optional analytics cookies you have to agree to first — nothing for advertising or cross-site tracking. Specifically:
- a single signed session cookie, set only when you sign in, so the Service remembers you are logged in;
- small preferences stored in your browser (localStorage), such as your millimetre/centimetre unit toggle — these never leave your device.
Analytics (optional). We use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see
which pages are useful. It is off until you press “Accept” on the banner: before that, no
analytics script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set by us. If you accept, Google sets
cookies (_ga and one named after our measurement ID) that recognise your
browser on later visits, for up to two years. They cover
3d.skyteamlabs.com and app.3d.skyteamlabs.com and no other site.
Your answer itself is remembered in one small cookie (stl_analytics_consent,
six months, holding only the word “granted” or “denied”), which covers both of those
addresses — so you are asked once, not once per address. The legal basis is
your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and you can withdraw it at any time by clearing this
site’s data in your browser, which brings the banner back. We do not use Google Analytics
for advertising, and we do not link it to any account you create here. The calculator's
own pages are in English, so the banner there is in English.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. For material changes we will make a reasonable effort to notify account holders.
